Lymphoscintigraphy:
It is an imaging technology, where a dye is inserted into the lymph node to check the flow of the fluid. It helps in the diagnosis of any blockage present in the lymph node.

History: Breast carcinoma. Following needle localization of calcifications in the upper quadrant of the right the periareolar region was prepped with alcohol and following the administration of peri areolar 1% lidocaine this is followed by injection of 2.1 mCi of technetium 99m M filtered sulfur colloid and multiple injections in the periareolar region for sentinel node localization. The patient underwent the procedure without immediate complications.

PROCEDURE: Previous mammograms from East Cooper Medical Center, were initially reviewed. The procedure was discussed with the patient. After prepping the skin at the lateral left breast areolar margin, a small amount of lidocaine was injected superficially at the superolateral areolar margin, approximately 2 o'clock position. At this site, 2.08 mCi of technetium sulfur colloid was then injected superficially. No images are to be obtained.
